Dear Parishioners,
Happy first Sunday of July! Next Sunday, July 9, we will come together as a parish community for a prepared lunch of chicken, salad and pasta as I bid you all farewell.
My heartfelt gratitude to all the members of the different parish ministries and organizations for arranging this farewell lunch party.
Two years ago, I moved to this parish community. It seems like only yesterday when I was overcome with emotions leaving my former parish in Squamish. But I arrived at Holy Spirit Parish, my new parish, with enthusiasm and looking so happy and ''fell in love'' with my current work and its demands.
Reaching out to families and parishioners I was able to build friendships with many of you that I will always cherish in my heart. And after two years I have to say goodbye once again to people who I felt truly loved, honored, and respected me for who I am.
I would like to share with you this poem I found on the internet:
“Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some people move our souls to dance.
They awaken us to a new understanding
with the passing whisper of their wisdom.
Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts,
and we are never, ever the same.”
~ Flavia Weedn
You will always stay in my heart and my prayer for you everyday is that as you encounter Jesus, our Lord and Master, through the Word and Sacraments, you may always gaze upon Him and be transformed as a new person, created, loved and redeemed, and one day be with Him in His Kingdom.
